From Binge to Blackout in Williamsburg

Ahhhhh...the smell of fresh flowers. The College of William & Mary is the second oldest college in the nation, the best public school in the nation, and also has the distinction of co-existing alongside the great Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. Now beat that.

Toren drops in on a class of peer mentors at The College of William & Mary. After sharing some of his experiences with substance abuse and subsequent addiction, he answered questions from these college students who were wanting to know, "How can we help someone who may be headed down your same path?"

Ahhh...the colonial life...remember when? Most of the on-site actors stay in character when reinacting the daily lives in Colonial Williamsburg. It seems, that even back then, they too, may have faced the perils of binge drinking and been looking for answers in such resources as From Binge to Blackout.

Among various schools in the greater Williamsburg area, the Volkmanns had the chance to visit Grafton High School and Middle School. For the Middle School portion of the presentation, the audience was treated to an anti-substance abuse skit by the middle school's Youth2Youth group. The show was a great compliment to Toren and Chris's message.

An evening presentation was held at the Library in Williamsburg where community members were invited to the event. All appearances were thanks to the Historic Triangle Substance Abuse Coalition (pictured here).
